FYI is dedicated to improving youth outcomes on a population level and works with multiple community partners to influence systems change.

FYI envisions Faribault to be a place where ALL young people thrive.

FYI is an expert in convening stakeholders, building consensus, promoting best practices, providing background support, and advocating for equitable policy and practices.

  • Parks and Recreation – co-developing an online community calendar for youth activities, accommodate  building usage and equipment requests as needed
  • Buckham Library – provides leadership to Community School Advisory Council. Partners to provide books and learning activities to children in the community (especially during COVID)

Faribault Diversity Coalition

  • partnered on FMS grant-related project to reduce suspensions among students of color at FMS
  • partnering to bring community-wide equity initiative to Faribault to address segregation, racism, and justice

Faribault Public Schools

  • Co-manage the Faribault Community School services and after school programs at Faribault Middle School (FMS) & Jefferson
  • Partnered on FMS alternatives to suspension and restorative programs. Implemented positive school climate program (Hello Campaign)
  • Consultant to Faribault High School’s emerging RISE (Realizing Individual Student Excellence) program
  • Provided staff support with Rice County Chemical & Mental Health Coalition for FPS Mental Health work group during start up
  • Partner with Sodexho food on mobile distribution of summer meals to select neighborhoods
  • Partnering on Cradle to Career framework – start up team and data team
  • Provide support for Rice County Ready for Kindergarten team as needed
  • FPS Activities Office participates in YouthConnect! Network

Healthfinders Collaborative, Inc.

  • partner to bring sports physicals and dental clinics to Community Schools
  • co-leads the Rice County School Attendance Team with FYI

Northfield Healthy Community Initiative

  • serves as an “umbrella” organization for smaller projects and programs that wouldn’t have a home otherwise
  • provides organizational, financial, and human resources infrastructure for FYI
  • provides funding for majority of FYI’s budget when other funding isn’t available

Paradise Center for the Arts

  • participates in the YouthConnect! Network
  • cross promotion of programs
  • provides annual program for Faribault Community Schools

Rice County Family Services Collaborative

  • completed project around Children of Incarcerated Parents engaging multiple stakeholders including Sheriff’s Office, Jail, local law enforcement, social workers, probation officers, public health nursing staff, treatment providers and community members.
  • Served as fiscal host for previous grants for FYI

Rice County Public Health

  • partner on SHIP grants to support physical activity and healthy eating among youth
  • provides regular programming to Faribault Community Schools
  • partnering to coordinate mobile food program and explore new food model in Faribault

Rice County Social Services, Community Corrections, & Attorney’s Office

  • lead agencies in Rice County School Attendance Team which is staffed/supported by FYI and Healthfinders
  • collaborative grant writing/funding of key staff for school attendance work in the county

Three Rivers Community Action

  • Partnering to bring mobile food program to select neighborhoods on Hiawathaland buses

University of Minnesota-Extension

  • Connect with SNAP staff regularly to bring programming to Faribault youth
